Well Hello again folks, are you ready to be dazzled by all my driving traffic ninja jedi tricks. Guess what, I don’t have any, nothing new, no shinny coin, just the basics, that get results. I challenge you to do these simple things for one month and not see some traffic flowing threw. Start small THINK BIG!
So lets dive in shall we,
The major search engines require a few days or even weeks to index the blog’s content and being indexed does not mean that your blog or website will be found by searchers immediately unless you have very rare (competitive) theme to discuss in the ever growing Internet community. You blog / website needs search engine optimization (SEO) which implies writing a good quality content containing a good density of keywords (the words which you want a person search in a search engine to find you blog of website at least on first three pages of the search results list) and building backlinks to your blog / website (posting to link directories, commenting in do follow blogs related to your website niche, participating in niche related forums using links to your sites in your signature etc.)
Search engine optimization takes a lot of time and efforts. Actually this is a non-stop process especially difficult and sometimes frustrating if your website is dedicated to, say, software, computers, web design services, legal services and other topics which are dramatically common, wide spread throughout the world wide web and represented by serious businesses which have been building their reputation online for ages and which have occupied the best pages in the search engines for the best keywords most relevant to you humble newly created website or blog.
So the above described is exactly my situation for the time being. But what to do if I want people to know about my website now? How can I attract visitors to my blog? Well, this is all about traffic. I thought I should learn about how to make people visit my website without using search engines.
1. Blog Commenting
See what your competition is writing about, tell them how you love their post, and how you write about similar issues. Invite them to check out your blog. This is even better if you can find a relevant post in your blog’s archives, easy way to revive some old content.
If someone comments on your post, be polite and answer them back. If you don’t respond to comments on your own blog, then don’t expect anyone else to do your work.
Comments have very little visibility and generally have the lowest traffic-building potential, but on blog entries that have a lot of comment activity, there might be some potential. Providing a link to a post relevant to the discussion can be a source of useful traffic to your blog.
2. Forum Commenting
Do you participate in an online discussion forum, or an email list? Sharing a link to a forums that your fellow discussion group participants might appreciate is another great way to get relevant traffic.
Also, put links to your relevant website in your signature–they’ll get seen every time you post another reply.
Here are a few examples:
- if you’re a member of an email group for new mothers, then sending a link to your review of a particular stroller might attract a lot of interest from other new mothers reading messages in your group.
- if you participate in a restaurant review forum, a website of your review of the new Italian restaurant that opened up nearby would probably be received quite well
- if you belong to an online book club, you can share your thoughts on a book in the form of a website , and share that link with fellow book club members.
3. Article Marketing
There are tons of article directories online and the more you submit to the more backlinks you get and the higher you go in the search engine results. You can find tons of directories and submit them yourself or there are sites that will charge you a few cents for each submission and do it for you. It all depends on how much time you have to devote to marketing.
This is one of the best and popular way in marketing the traffic to your site. Write and marketing articles which is related to your web niche and also submit them to the popular article marketing directories such as ezinearticles.com , squidoo.com, websitepages.com articlebase.com , voice.yahoo.com & the like.
When writing articles for submission to directories, concentrate on you niche. Make use of affiliate marketing and make multiple versions of the same content. Keep them original and short, between 300 and 450 words. Use the resource box to hold your link pointing to your website, blog or article. Give your audience a taste and a call for action, a reason to click on your link to get more information.
Be sure that to include your link to your website site in the article author’s information or resource box or anywhere along the article text in your article, if link is permitted. Also make sure that your posted articles are rich in niche keywords with cool attractive titles & optimized – unique; it must be original & highly informative.
If you don’t have or manage time to write your own articles, then you can always higher them or outsource them to iwriter or fiverr at very reasonable rates.
4. Squidoo Lens
Why should you use Squidoo?
You may be asking, “What the heck is Squidoo?” Well, let me tell you. Squidoo is a great place to promote affiliate products, your website or blog, and even yourself. It is a free community very similar to hubpages. Instead of hubs, you create lenses. You have the ability to create content and showcase yourself as an expert. You support your content with pictures, affiliate links, and anything else you need to promote your lens.
As a lensmaster, you also earn revenue from Adsense, Amazon, eBay, Cafepress, and many others. Of course you will also earn from any sales you make with your affiliate products. Squidoo is a wonderful promotion tool.
5. Press Release Traffic
I have several links on there to take you to sites where you can write up a small press release and have them submitted all over the web.
I use mainly Prolog.com because it’s easy and allows an active hyperlink inside the body of the release. This helps in 2 ways, first it gets your headline in front of thousands who may be looking for what you have, second it gets you at least 1 backlink for your website. The more people that pick up and bookmark your press release, the more backlinks you get.
Back-links, if you don’t know, tell the search engines that your site has more importance than those with less backlinks and ranks your site higher. If you’re not concerned with backlinks then the more press releases you send out the more potential traffic you can get to your site.
There are literally hundreds of online services that allow you to send out press releases, but many do not allow an active hyperlink within the body of the release. Now there is still some usefulness to using press releases without the hyperlink especially if you are promoting a blog or website. It’s very important to find a PR service that allows active hyperlinks if your sole purpose is to promote individual articles.
6.Social Network Traffic
A relatively easy thing to do, but often overlooked. Social bookmarking sites allow you to submit a link to a Web page that you think is cool. You can often tag the link into a specific category (like “politics” or “humor”), so that people looking for new cool stuff on the Web in that specific category can see your link.
You can multiply and boost your traffic by bookmarking and adding account of your blog to the popular Social Bookmarking sites. Social Bookmarking websites likes Facebook , twitter , stumble upon , pin interest etc. are basically sites that are categorize & store bookmark links. Millions of constant visitors flood in these popular these Social Bookmarking websites to navigate and search for information. That’s why , the idea of bookmarking social sites is to post links back to your blog or website page from these Social Bookmarking websites. You will specify and marketing some of the keywords or specific targeted tags which will categorize your website bookmark.
7. Tips & Tricks
8. Ebay traffic
OK, so you have a website, products lined up to have shipped out at a drop of a hat, you’ve submitted to the search engines, and you wait. You wait some more, and yes, wait yet a bit longer. Then you realized no one is coming to your site, let alone buying from your site. What do you do? Sign up for an eBay account, put your info product on a CD and let the auctioning begin. Look online for a easy guide that helps you set up everything for eBay then get to work and watch the traffic flood in.
9. Link Traffic
Using article directories is the simplest form of article marketing. It’s a form of advertising which makes articles freely available for distribution, publication, and syndication on websites, blogs and just about anywhere a publisher chooses. Each article contains an author’s resource box which carries a bio and by line, as well as references contact information and… you guessed it, the BACKLINK.
Rss for link- This technique makes use of RSS feeds. If you don’t know, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a web feed that is used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video. An RSS feed is usually is a summary which points to the URL with the full content and contains metadata such as dates, and keywords.
You want to get as many back links into a website as you can with out being misleading. I wouldn’t put a link up for computers and hide the link under a word like panties. It doesn’t work very well, well it might but I am not sure Website pages would like that very much. But if you wrote a website about flat irons and in the article you included stuff about women’s apparel, you might embed the panties website under a word or phrase like “panties” or “matching panties set”. You get the point.
From there, go to the website (open a new window so you don’t lose your work) on panties and either click the green “share it” button at the bottom of website or copy the URL in the address bar at the top of your computer.-note, the websites have to be published first before you can share it-
If you chose to use the share button. Website pages would have already assigned you a default URL Tracker. After you have clicked the green share it button, it will look like the below picture. Click the “link to this page” icon; the website will automatically have the referral tracker embedded in the URL address to the website so all you have to do is copy it.
Then go back to your website you want to use it in, highlight the word you are using, click on that chain link in the tool bar in the “text capsule” and paste the URL in the address bar, and hit insert.
Remember, the point of back linking is to keep people on your sites or pages. This is the general rule to trafficking. The more traffic you get the more clicks you are likely to get.
So that just about wrap’s it up. I know there are a 100000000 different ways to drive traffic but these are the basic for me .
